Today we have a special interview with one of our future destination wedding brides, Chelsea! Importantly, we are talking resorts, vendors, and our company! It can be stressful getting ready for a destination wedding, but Chelsea and her fiance seem like they can’t wait! So, let’s hear about their upcoming destination wedding.
Firstly, tell us about yourself and your upcoming wedding.
My name is Chelsea Osmond, and my fiancé is Garret Leclair. We are getting married on December 17, 2017, at the Catalonia Yucatan Beach Resort in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico.
Who is your agent and how did you hear about us?
Well, I found out about Liz Moore destination weddings and more specifically of our agent, Zackary Leblanc from a friend. Originally, I had started trying to contact resorts on my own and contacted various destination wedding company’s and was getting very overwhelmed. I asked a friend that I knew was in the later stages of planning her destination wedding, and she told me about Zackary. From the first phone call with Zack, he made everything a breeze! Also, he is very knowledgeable and will give an honest opinion based on his vast experience with resorts and weddings. The hardest decision was picking what fantastic resort to go with for the wedding!
What about your destination wedding are you and your future husband looking forward to the most?
We are most excited to spend an entire week with our family and friends!
What made you want to have a destination wedding?
We have family all over the country, and we were having a hard time deciding where to have our wedding because no matter what a lot of our guests would have to travel. Furthermore, that’s how we decided on a destination since we did not want to choose between either of our hometowns. A lot of our friends and family go down south in the winter for a vacation as well which made the decision easier.
Have you decided on any vendors yet? Photographer? Makeup Artist? Floral arrangement?
My mother will be doing the girls’ makeup as well as making some of the jewelry. (Sherry’s Treasures — Pembroke, ON). Garret’s aunt will be making our wedding favors (KIBO – natural body care products — Aurora, ON). Brian T Walters photography will be traveling to Mexico from Petawawa, ON with us! Everything else is up in the air still!
What about your destination or resort attracted you to have your wedding there?
Honestly, we selected Mexico for the price. We had about four countries in mind and narrowed it down from there. We wanted an affordable vacation for our guests without compromising on quality, and Mexico won. Out of about eight resorts in Mexico, we narrowed it down to the east coast and more specifically the Catalonia Yucatan Beach by researching wedding reviews for the resorts. We like the smaller size of the Catalonia as well as the fact that there is still multiple pools and a la carte option. It is close to golf courses (and has a golf simulator in the sports bar) — we have a few avid golfers in the family. We also love the area of the beach that the ceremony will take place! It’s gorgeous!
