What is your name, occupation, and your company?
My name is Kayla Knight, and I am the owner and head planner of “Day By Knight Events.”
What is the most common question you face as a wedding planner and how do you answer it?
As most planners, our most frequent asked question “why do we need a planner?”. I have been lucky enough to be a part of many events and some have had planners and some have not. The brides that didn’t have a planner I often hear them say, “I wish I had some help.”
We are there to assist in making sure everything is on time; we are there to fix any problems that may occur, help you save money, find the best vendors that work with your budget and overall take the stress off you on the day of your wedding. I find a lot of my couples are from out of town and come to the Okanagan for a destination wedding and they find it very helpful to have their planner know the venues, other vendors and give helpful tips. We offer three packages with “Day By Knight Events.” We offer Full Planning, Partial Planning and Day of Coordinating packages. We customize the package to fit our couples needs, which I do because I know not all weddings are the same.
What is the most important piece of advice that you would give to a future bride?
Enjoy! Planning of a wedding should be fun and exciting! I see too many times when brides and family are so stressed and don’t get to enjoy their wedding day because everyone is trying to do too much. Let your planner help you bring your dream wedding to reality. We are here to assist you and make your wedding a day you can remember. We often see many brides want to do the planning of the wedding and be 100% hands on until the “day of” and then they hire us to come in as their “Day of Coordinator.” This option is great as it is very cost efficient and you and your family get to relax and have us execute your vision. HAVE FUN, don’t stress too much, let the professionals do the rest!!
Why do you think someone should have an Okanagan Wedding?
I lived in the Okanagan for many years and by working in the Hospitality Industry along with having an event planning company the Okanagan is stunning and a perfect location to host an event! We have fantastic venues here that work a lot of the time with destination weddings. It’s a great place to have your friends and family meet for a weekend and enjoy all we have to offer; Wineries, Beaches, Orchards and so much more! The pictures you get after with the sceneries we have are flawless!
